i n t r o d u c i n g John Heyman Drummer I started playing drums in the early 60s to Beach Boy records on a toy drum set at the age of 9 or 10. I later played CCR, Ten Years After, Steppenwolf, Cream, Doors and Elvis music on a real drum set. I started playing clubs in Oklahoma City at the age of 16 with a band called Arcadia. I then played with various Rock-N-Roll groups until switching to Country and Western in 1978 with a band named American Strings. In the mid 80s I played with the Billy Silver Band and Leon McCallif who was Bob Wills original steel player. We released an original 45 rpm record that did very well regionally. (You DO remember 45s dont you? =o) The thrill of my life was meeting and hanging out with D. J. Fontana, Elvis's original drummer in the 50s & 60s. I changed to blues in the early 90s with a group called Mary Ann and the Blues Dog. I went from that to the current lineup comprising the Elvis Thrasher Band; consisting of Elvis and rock-a-billy music. This truly is the music I love to play. This is Real. This is as close to Elvis as youll ever get! |
